The red Z is Tod Kaneko’s. Everything about it is perfect. I’ve been stalking this car at shows and Coffee and Cars for about 10 years, but I always chicken out when it comes to talking to him. It’d be like telling Emeril Lagasse that you admire his cooking because you also like to make pasta. This Z is just on a different level. The white Z is almost exactly what i’m hoping my car will look like. White paint, black flares, vented hood from a later Z. I shot a couple of small pieces and thought about painting the outside of the car this green color, but it gets too dark in shade and shows all the imperfections in the bodywork. It’s semi-gloss so in the sun it’s got a little shimmer, but at night the inside of the car will look black. Which is what I want. I don’t want the inside of the car to attract any attention from thieves. Dark green is low key, but it still says i’m trying.
